The international Málaga Costa del Sol Airport is the oldest airport of Spain and the fourth busiest after Madrid and Barcelona. Located at about 8km from the center, it welcomes 85% of the international traffic of Andalusia and hosts about 80 foreign companies whose most of them are European. In 2011, it handled 12,823,117 passengers and 107,397 flight operations. The main European countries connected with Málaga are France, Germany, United Kingdom and Norway.

A suburban train line connects Terminal T4 with several locations on the Costa del Sol: Fuengirola, Benalmádena, Torremolinos and Málaga centre. It takes only about 10 minutes to reach the Málaga-María Zambrano train station in the center of Málaga.
